Free Music Lessons is an event series run by Thomas Carroll in Leeds, United Kingdom.
Events are run as self-funded DIY events, mostly at venues like Wharf Chambers, The Adelphi, and sometimes other spaces. All gigs are NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) and have a sliding scale entry fee. Typically there aren’t advanced tickets, and I take card payments at the door.
I’m interested in, and tend to book, electroacoustic improvisation (EAI / Onkyo / etc.), computer music, performance, field recording / musique concrète, tape music, the fringes of jazz, contemporary composition, otherwise uncategorisable music.
I’m less interested in ‘bands’ (rock or otherwise), and I’d rather not deal with blanket emails from booking agents please.
